TurnSignal for open-source Playwright projects: free
In short
- Organizations whose tracked repositories are public get TurnSignal with raised limits, free, for as long as TurnSignal exists.
- Maintainers see which failures a pull request caused, which tests are flaky across runs, and which tests went missing when a runner crashed.
- Pull requests from forks get no secrets on GitHub, so their runs can't upload; branch pull requests and the default branch still build the history.
How to get it
- Sign up and create a project for the public repository.
- Add the reporter and the
TURNSIGNAL_TOKENsecret (see the docs). - Then email hello@turnsignal.ai with the repository link, and we raise the limits for your organization.
What about pull requests from forks?
GitHub doesn't pass repository secrets to workflows triggered by pull requests from forks, so those runs can't send results. Runs on the default branch and on pull requests from branches in the repository work as usual, and they are what the history, the flaky-test labels and the "also failing on main" comparison are built from.
Your project data
Test names, outcomes and errors (after secret redaction) are stored for your organization only; nothing is shown publicly. See security and data.
