About TurnSignal
TurnSignal is built by Sekhar, an SDET Lead with 14 years in test automation across web, mobile and API testing, working with Playwright, Cypress, Selenium and Appium, and using AI for test automation for the last three years. Sekhar writes the guides on this site.
Why it exists
- For years the team ran Playwright without any dashboard, because nobody knew one existed. Most questions after a red run went unanswered: is this new, is it flaky, did my change cause it?
- Hosted dashboards that existed were too expensive for the team, or confusing when trying to understand failed and flaky tests.
- When a CI runner ran out of memory or crashed, test results silently disappeared. That became TurnSignal's first principle: no test goes missing.
- AI-written tests work on simple apps but fail more often as apps grow. Teams need to see which tests to trust and review what agents change.
How we build it
- Every run opens with a plain verdict, and every label shows the evidence behind it.
- The reporter never changes your exit code and never needs your source code.
- Every Playwright fact in the guides is checked against the installed Playwright version and its documentation, with sources listed.
